The infamous Ron/ Hermione kiss scene from Deathly Hallows. WOOHOO! I cannot believe how long this took me to paste together. Comic strips are not in my future, clearly.

This was a product of my Potter-a-thon... which spilled over across a week's time.

In any event enjoy! And hey, maybe I'll even color some panels at some point. :D

Now, ya see, if Ron looked like he did in the last panel in my head, I would be completely head-over-heels for him. Unfortuantely, my Mental!Ron is not, but you made a damn good try and changing it.

I love the last panel. Absolute Love. Hermione smile is spilling out all it's evil intelligence, and Ron's face is all about the 'Get 'em'. Great job.

Wide awake and all joy.

Argh, how do you make those kissing-scenes look so good?? It's so hard to make them look like they're really attached to eachother T__T

Great piece of work!

Thank you just SO much! haha. This thing was like a labor of love for me. There's actually an entire 1st draft that I made like 2 months ago, but my art abilities changed so much, that I just started over again. lol. And I LOVE what you just said about Mental!Ron. That was hilarious, and so understandable. With that 1st draft I just mentioned, my best friend saw it and said, "Wow... so um, Ron's hotter in your head than in mine." haha. Oh well. At least this way he can be shared.

And I can't even say how happy I am that you love that last panel so much. I'd been working on this thing on and off for about a week, and yesterday morning is when I made those last two panels. I was SO tired, and just wanted this done, and I debated whether or not I wanted to make the last one. Eventually I decided I HAD to because it actually had been the first image in my head when I started drawing all this. lol. I'm really excited with how it turned out, and even more excited to know how much you love it. It means a ton. THANKS!

Dude, here aren't enough thank yous in the world for this comment. I know this will sound really self-involved, but I love this thing immensely, so just knowing that someone else out there seems to love it just as much makes me immeasurably happy. I really can't even say. lol.

How I did it: I spent a LOT of time on it. I mean like FOREVER. I did this over the course of a week, just setting it down and picking it up again. For most of the panels I didn't use a specific reference, I just used myself, made some faces, jotted down what I saw, and made up whatever was left afterwards. haha. And again, no easy process. The first kiss I think was entirely out of my head except for some angle checks in a mirror, but on the second one I used a photo ref that I'd had lying around for awhile. I would say that one's like 80-85% ref'd. But yeah, I just didn't take "okay" for an answer on these I guess. I just REALLY wanted them to be good, and so I forced myself to take the time. And I know that they look really finished and pretty now, but I erased a LOT of lines before I had them just right in my sketchbook. haha. Blood, sweat, and tears, baby, just to geek out majorly. :D

If you have any more question, ask away. I'm ready and rarin' to answer.

Thank you SOOOO much for saying so. That means loads to me. I knew that this scene had been done to death (it's like the Snape and a silver doe scene of the R/Hr universe right now, lol), so I knew I had to make it good in order for it to have any impact at this point. I'm just so happy to know you've received it so well! THANK YOU! :)
:icontravelingpantscg:
Thank you so very much! I'm so pleased to hear that you like that panel. It had been in my head for about a month, and it feels so good to finally have it out. lol.

I know! Kissing scenes BLOW to draw, huh? They're one of those things that you always are excited to draw and then end up REALLY frustrated over by the end. haha. The first one was just out of my head, and I suppose it's just because it's an angle I've studied a bunch. The second one I used a ref for. The key to a good kissing pic, I've found, is to minimize the amount of visible lip. When people kiss passionately, there's barely any lip that ends up showing. They's eating each other. haha
